Wedding Bands

Wedding bands have been worn for centuries to signify one's commitment to a person's spouse. It wasn't until the late 1930's and into the 40's that designers began to design solitaire rings meant to be work with a wedding band as a second ring. Before the implementation of stacking these two rings, most women only received one or the other, and many men worn a family signet ring on their right pinky finger which they moved to their left pinky finger upon marriage. These tradition vary across cultures, countries and times, but keep those things in mind when pondering the history of your ring and what you are searching for because sometimes a specific engagement ring just wasn't intended to be worn with a band at all.
